Ryan Adams - Wasted Years (Iron Maiden cover)

Il n'y a aucuns doutes que Iron Maiden est un de mes groupes de rock préféré. Et parmi toutes leurs chansons, Wasted Years tient une place particulière. Au-delà de son côté 'catchy', de cette intro avec ce riff génial et de son solo 'à tiroirs' ; j'adore les paroles, leur signification, et le fait qu'elles soient à la fois nostalgiques et pleines d'espoirs pour l'avenir.

There's no denial that Iron Maiden is one of my favourite rock band. And among all of their songs, Wasted Years takes a very special place in my heart. Beyond the catchy side, this wonderful intro with that awesome riff and the complex guitar solo, I just love the lyrics, their meaning, and the fact that it's both nostalgic and full of hopes for the future.

Par hasard, hier, je vois une info passer sur twitter sur la bande originale de la saison 6 de la série Californication ; et, devinez quoi? dessus il y a une reprise de cette chanson par Ryan Adams. J'ai toujours pensé, tout au long de ces années, que le coté mélancolique de cette chanson méritait une approche plus douce et acoustique. Merci Ryan pour m'avoir finalement donné cette version magnifique.

By chance, yesterday, I saw a news on twitter about the TV serie Californication - Season 6 - original soundtrack ; and, guess what? on it there's a cover of this song by Ryan Adams. I always felt throughout the years that the melancholic side of that song deserved a more soft and acoustic approach. Thanks Ryan for finally giving me that wonderful version.
